GEORGE COYNE, LCSW
George Coyne, LCSW
George  Coyne holds a master's degree in social work and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Virginia.  He has over 12 years of experience in helping people cope with emotional issues such as depression, OCD, anxiety, ADHD, learning disabilities, love, marriage counseling and relationship issues.

George has developed a strong ability to connect with adolescents and their families, in part through his work in the public and private school special education systems.  He believes that adolescents need the support and understanding of their family in order to manage difficult times, as well as daily life. He works with adolescents and their families to better improve communication and relationships. George is also a parent and this contributes to a better understanding of his clients who are parents.

George also has experience working with clients in the twenty and thirty something age groups.  Tough times and the competitive job market that make up the Washington D.C. area can be challenging for young professionals. George works to help people understand how they can better manage and balance their own work and personal environments.  Relationships can also be difficult in this area and getting the relationship right is not always easy. George can help relationships grow through individual or couples counseling . You do not need to be married or engaged to see a counselor--dating relationships and friendships can be worked on as well.

Through additional counseling training at Loyola College, George also specializes in helping people who are problem gamblers.  He works with problem gamblers to develop goals and other support measures to that they may be successful in coping with their addiction.

George not only enjoys helping people in the counseling world, but in the community as well. George has served Fairfax County residents as a volunteer Fire Fighter and Emergency Medical Technician for over ten years. While assisting people who are sick or who are experiencing a life threatening emergency, or while helping to save a family's house, George constantly works to help others.
